From The Hill.
Past President George W. Bush delivered a speech that called on all Americans to recall and recover America’s identity.
“We’ve seen nationalism distorted into nativism, forgotten the dynamism that immigration has always brought to America. We see a fading confidence in the value of free markets and international trade, forgetting that conflict, instability and poverty follow in the wake of protectionism,” Bush said.
Many agreed with the former President’s words. Others had different opinions. Former Congressman, Joe Walsh, tweeted about the speech, “No, George Bush, nationalism isn’t nativism. Nationalism is just putting OUR security & OUR well being first.”
