American journalist Chuck Todd spoke recently on MSNBC about how tension within the Republican Party has been evident.
According to Chuck Todd, the actual consequences of Sen. Jeff Flake’s actions yesterday won’t be fully known right away, because while it might be a temporary victory for President Donald Trump and Steve Bannon, there’s the possibility a Democrat could end up winning Flake’s seat.
Todd wondered aloud “‘If Donald Trump were more polite, would Jeff Flake still be running and would Bob Corker still be running even if he was still a protectionist, even if he was still an isolationist? And I think the answer is yes, I think they’d both be running.'”
Joe Walsh, former Congressman and now right-wing talk show host, tweeted his thoughts on the matter, saying “Corker and Flake aren’t leaving b/c of Trump. They’re leaving b/c they’ve lost touch with their voters.”
