In the weeks since the recent Florida school shooting, supporters of gun-control have begun to complain about feeling discredited on their views due inaccuracy in terms used to describe the problem. Gun-control supporters have expressed feeling “bullied” about the conversation shifting into correct terminology, instead of the “gun issue”.

Perhaps someone tweets about “assault-style” weapons, only to be told that there’s no such thing. Maybe they’re reprimanded that an AR-15 is neither an assault rifle nor “high-powered.” Or they say something about “machine guns” when they really mean semiautomatic rifles. Or they get sucked into an hours-long Facebook exchange over the difference between the terms clip and magazine.

Former Congressman Joe Walsh tweeted about these complaints of “bullying”, saying “So, correcting a Leftist who says the “AR” in AR-15 stands for “assault rifle” is bullying? Bullying? Bullshit. It’s telling someone who wants to take away my guns that he doesn’t know squat about guns.”
